1 What is Pinoy Pilgrim?

First, Pinoy Pilgrim is the title of a book written by Manoling de Leon. The book is an autobiography of a man who started his pilgrimage as one of the first Pinoy overseas workers in Guam. The exciting pilgrimage continues to this very day, as Manoling continues being enriched with the wonderful experiences that daily Pinoy life has to offer.

Second, Pinoy Pilgrim is the short name of the Pinoy Pilgrim Global Foundation, Inc. (PPGFI), a not-for-profit corporation that was put up to promote the greatness of each and every Pinoy Pilgrim in the global stage.

The foundation aims to undertake projects that will enable Pinoys to contribute to making this great world of ours even greater!

2 Why was Pinoy Pilgrim written?

Pinoy Pilgrim was written so that the world recognizes Pinoy greatness. Manoling's colorful life shows that the Pinoys have the fighting spirit and cheerfulness that make them adaptable to any circumstance they find themselves in, anywhere and anytime. Manoling wanted to share his experiences from being a maruya peddler (later on selling his mom's maruya, wholesale, to the neighborhood), to being a consultant to Philippine presidents, while at the same time being a husband and father to his wife and children. These experiences would be more useful if shared. Manoling shares these experiences in the book Pinoy Pilgrim.
