Why? It’s the Money, Stupid. PDF E-mail

Why did a bunch of professors from a Jesuit-run University claim that a Roman Catholic can support the obviously anti-life Reproductive Health or RH Bill in good conscience?

Why do politicians, MS and PhD degree-holding technocrats in the cabinet, bureaucrats, and government functionaries whose salaries are paid by middle-income taxpayers want to reduce the number of people who pay their salaries?

Why do the greedy rich and the corrupt blame the poor and their babies for our country’s poverty?

Why do Filipinos blame our colonial mentality for our backwardness and poverty, and then show their colonial mentality by adopting the western population control mindset?

Why do women think that the RH Bill, which obviously cheapens women, will be good for the dignity of women?

Why are incompetent parents and unfaithful spouses passing a law that spreads their incompetence and infidelity to other families, parents and spouses?

Why are non-Catholics and non-practicing Catholics, non-Christians and non-practicing Christians, non-Muslims and non-practicing Muslims telling faithful Catholics, Christians and Muslims how to live their faith?

Why are non-economists using economics to justify their arguments?

Why are people without a conscience appealing to our conscience to believe them?

Why are the mass media so eager at pouncing on those who oppose the RH Bill?

Why are people who think only of their own self-interests telling us to think of the interests of others?

Why are people who claim they love freedom doing everything they can to trample on the freedom of others?

Why are RH Bill supporters ranting hysterically against those who disagree?

Why do we kick out foreign military bases so we can run our country and then allow those same foreigners to tell us how we raise our families?

Why is a Filipino legislator from a poor and large family (and they all turned out okay) sponsoring a bill pushing for smaller families?

Why are we cutting down our population growth rate when the growth rates of other countries are already going down and we ourselves are just at the replacement rate?

Why does the pompous minority always think the silent majority agrees with them?

Why don’t we see moral corruption as the root of the mess in our country and that passing the RH Bill into a law will only make corruption worse?

Why?  Money, lots of it.

The RH Bill is nothing else but the tiny, worm-infested fruit from the old, gnarled tree of legislative prostitution: watered by corruption, fattened by the dung of selfish interests, and growing under the brazen light of callous immorality.

Passing the RH Bill is a self-inflicted social wound that would accelerate our downward spiral into a nation of losers led by politician-lackeys snugly resting in the pockets of Western pill manufacturers and dictated to by Obama’s State Department.  What misery we deserve if we allow the RH Bill to pass!
